32 motorcycles and relative parts which were already to be exported were detained by Chongqing Customs by being suspicion of out view design patent tort to Lifan Motorcycle. Chongqing Customs reminds companies, that they should apply for intellectual property rights records on their own initiative to enhance the pointed investigating of Customs and protect companies’ right and interests.

As learned, early this month, Chongqing Customs received information that motorcycles from X Company which were already to be exported were under suspicion of patent tort to Lifan’s products. Chongqing Customs immediately started risk monitor and on-the-spot investigation. The right holder affirmed that these products infringe his out view design patents which he put on record in Chongqing Customs.
    After Lifan formally applied for products detain and paid for guaranty fee, these days, Chongqing Customs legally detained the suspicious products and notified the infringe about relative judicial relief ways. Now, this case is under judicial investigation.
    Chongqing Customs expressed that only 32 enterprises in Chongqing had applied intellectual property rights records, and the records cases number was only 200, less than 1.4% of the state customs, the consciousness of safeguarding legal rights was still weak among Chongqing enterprises.
